University of Birjand History

University of Birjand was established in the year 1975. It is a public university which is situated in Birjand in Iran. It is the oldest and largest university in east of Iran. It was started as the Institution of Higher Education but got its recognition as the university in 1991. It first admitted students in 1989.

University of Birjand Programs, Courses and Schools

University of Birjand comprises of fourteen academic faculties offering learning in various disciplines of study. It offers bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral courses. Students can also apply for other programs like research, virtual education, language trainings and other training sessions.

It is home to more than 350 faculties out of which some are full time professors and some are part time. It admits more than 12,000 students promising them their bright future. Till now it has worked on more than 450 projects and has published more than 20,000 papers. It also has Innovation and Accelerating Centre.

University of Birjand Campuses

University of Birjand has got two main campuses along with four satellite campuses in the nearby cities. It has got modern and sustainable infrastructure. Student facilities include eating outlets, campus store, athletic courts, fitness centre, recreational areas, wellness centre, auditorium, lecture halls, banking services and high-tech classrooms. Student clubs and associations organises various events and activities throughout the year. University media has newsletter, publications and internet TV.

Central library is a multi-storey building equipped with books, theses, research guides, research projects, journals, publications and periodicals. It has got multimedia model including databases, tutorials, digital library, computer systems, internet services and projector installed study rooms.

University of Birjand is a renowned and highly ranked university. The Times Higher Education Young University Rankings has ranked it among top 300 universities and among top 13 Iranian Universities. THE has also ranked it for its education in Engineering and Technology and Physical Sciences. It comes among the top 20% universities of the world. It is an internationally acclaimed university.
