University of L’Aquila History

The University of L’Aquila is an Italian university located in the town of L’Aquila in central Italy. The university dates back to 1596 when L'aquilanum Collegium was founded although it was formally established in 1964 and adopted its present name in the year 1982. The university currently enrolls over 18,000 students.
