University of Santiago de Compostela History

This Public University was founded in 1495 and is located in Galicia of Santiago de Compostela. It’s one of the most primitive universities which opened as a religious grammar school and later on the university became visible as one of the strongest pioneer institutions in Spain in the field of Science.

The university comprises of 19 Faculties, Various Departments and Schools. It offers Bachelor’s, Master’s and Doctorate degree programs in the field of Law, Economics, Medicine, Psychology, Business Administration, Computers, Engineering, Humanities, Social Sciences and many more. Students can also avail different language courses at the Center for Modern Languages.
