University of Sfax History

University of Sfax is a Tunisian higher education institution located in the city of Sfax. The university was established as University of the South in 1986 and adopted its present name in 2003 after the University of the South was split into University of Gabes, University of Gafsa, and current University of Sfax. The university currently enrols over 48000 students.

University of Sfax comprises of 21 academic departments, 3 colleges, 5 research faculties, and 12 institutes offering a range of undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral programs. Some of its subject offerings include Medicine, Economics, Management, Law, Arts, Humanities, Sciences, and Engineering.
