University of the Philippines History

The University of the Philippines was established in the year of 1908, it is a state university system in the Philippines, and is the country's national university. The University began with the establishment of the Philippine Medical School and later incorporated into the University as the College of Medicine and Surgery in 1905 and started operating in the year of establishment.

The University library system contains the largest collections of medical, agricultural, veterinary and animal science materials in the Philippines.
