The University formerly started as an amalgamation of Zielona Gora Pedagogical University and a Technical University. This institute slowly and steadily emerged as one of the best technical Universities in Poland.

University of Zielona Gora is composed of several Schools and colleges, eleven faculties and many departments. It offers Bachelors, Masters and Doctorate degrees in the disciplines of Administrative Sciences, Arts, Humanities, Law, Computer Science, Mathematics, Telecommunications, Economics, Managements, Physics, Astronomy, Biological Sciences, Psychology, and many more.
