Lindenwood University History

Lindenwood University's history started in the year 1827 by George Champlin Sibley and Mary Easton Sibley. It was founded as The Lindenwood School for Girls. It is one of the second oldest higher education institutions in Missouri.

Lindenwood University campus is spread over an area of 500 acres in St. Charles, Missouri. The eastern part of the campus has the oldest campus buildings. Most of the academic buildings are located in the eastern part of the main campus. Margret Leggat Butler Library is the main library on the eastern part of the campus. many academic offices are also there. The central part of the campus has most of the residence halls and athletic facilities. The western part has a sports stadium, sports complex, and many other structures. There are some regional centers of the University including Daniel Boone Campus, Florissant, Moscow Mills, and many others.
