Damascus University History

Damascus University was established in the year 1923. It is a public university which is situated in Damascus, the capital city of Syria. It was formed after the amalgamation of School of Medicine and Institute of Law. It was initially named as the Syrian University but it got its current name in 1958.

Damascus University Programs, Courses and Schools

Damascus University is one of the largest and oldest universities of Syria. It is organised into 17 academic faculties, five higher institutes, eight technical institutes, eight university hospitals and a business clinic. It offers bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral programs in various disciplines of study.

Most of the faculties of the university are qualified from the renowned universities of the world. Students can also opt for professional trainings, open learning, study abroad, research and parallel education. Its Arab Language Institute is known as the best centre to study arab language.
