Lawrence University History

Lawrence University was originally founded in 1847 and named as Lawrence Institute of Wisconsin. It was the second higher education institute in the United States that is funded as a coeducational institution. Many philanthropists provided funding for the establishment of the University. In the year 1849, it was renamed Lawrence University.
