New York Law School (NYLS) is a private law school which is situated in Tribeca, New York City, USA. NYLS offers both full-time day and part-time evening programs.

New York Law School History

The State of New York chartered New York Law School on June 11, 1891, and the school began operations soon after. It was the second-largest law school in the United States after only a year of operation in 1892.

New York Law School Programs, Courses, and Schools

New York Law School has established seven academic centers that provide specialized study and opportunities for interaction among students, faculty, and expert practitioners. Through the John Marshall Harlan Scholars Program, an academic honors program designed for students with the highest academic credentials, these seven academic centers engage many students in advanced research.

According to the 2017 edition of U.S. News and World Report, published in March 2016, New York Law School was ranked 111th among U.S. law schools, up 16 spots from the previous year. The School was recognized in that edition for its clinical programs, part-time evening division, and diversity.

New York Law School infrastructure & services

New York Law School Campuses

The main campus of New York Law School is located at 185 West Broadway in Tribeca, Manhattan. The campus's new tower, which includes classrooms, the law library, and collaboration and event spaces, opened in 2009. Smith Group and BKSK Builders structured the advanced, 235,000 square foot infrastructure, which is the first huge building to be completed in downtown Manhattan since the September 11, 2001 attacks.

New York Law School Libraries

Mendik Library is the New York Law School library. The Mendik Library is an important part of New York Law School's intellectual culture, serving the study and learning requirements of the NYLS community. The Library offers access to a significant physical collection of legal resources as well as sophisticated electronic research products, as well as ample space for both individual and group study. The librarians also offer a robust research instruction curriculum to help students make meaningful and experiential interconnections respectively academic learning, legal doctrine, scientific studies and analytical abilities, and rule-making.

New York Law School Housing services

     New York Law School works with Educational Housing Services (EHS), a charitable group that offers comprehensive student housing in New York City. The mutual residence hall is located in St. George Towers near the area Brooklyn Heights neighborhood.

The New York Law School's student health center offers medical services. Medicine, general physician, nurses, covid-19 vaccination, emergency requirements, and much more are available at the center.

   The recreation department at New York Law School provides sports and fitness facilities. The fitness center features a fully equipped gym as well as multiple bathrooms and showers.

Students at New York Law School are protected on campus. New York Law School takes every preventative measure to keep its students safe on campus. Emergency blue light phones are available on the New York Law School campus. These phones can be activated in the event of an emergency by pressing the button on the light pole. When turned on, the light flashes, alerting others to your location and providing direct access to UHA Public Safety.
