University of Texas Rio Grande Valley is part of the University of Texas units. The university is located in the Rio Grande Valley and is one of the southernmost units of the University of Texas. The university came into existence in 2013 after merging with two other universities. The university was established to bring in development in the southernmost region. Robert C. Vackar donated a huge chunk of money to the university and in his honor, the College of Business and Entrepreneurship was established after his name.
