Al-Hussein Bin Talal University History

Al-Hussein Bin Talal University was established in the year 1999. It is a public and comprehensive university which is situated in Ma’an city in Jordan. It was founded as the part of the Mutah University and became the first university to be developed during the rule of H.M. King Abdullah ||.

Al-Hussein Bin Talal University Programs, Courses and Schools

Al-Hussein Bin Talal University is organised into nine academic colleges and school which provides learning in different disciplines. It offers bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral degree programs. Other courses available include research, language courses, e-learning and deanship programs.

Most of the faculties are doctorate in their field of study and are experienced from the renowned universities. Student to faculty ratio is low. Internship opportunities are provided to the students. Deanships are offered in scientific research and graduate studies and student affairs.

Al-Hussein Bin Talal University covers an area of 104 acres with urban infrastructure. The campus is widely spread and around 9 km northwest of Ma’an city. Student services include security service, cafeteria, research centres, academic units, support services, athletic ground, fitness centre, recreational area, auditorium and halls. Student media has news centre and journals. Conferences, events, activities and workshops are organised throughout the year.

Prince Al-Hussein Bin Abdullah Library is the main library of the university with the collection of books, journals, magazines, theses, publications, documents, research guides and periodicals. Databases, e-resources, help desk, IT services, study rooms and training centres are accessible.

Al-Hussein Bin Talal University is the renowned university of Jordan. U.S. News and World Report has ranked it in the top 100 arab region universities. EduRank has ranked it among the top 44% universities of the world with 1^st in Ma’an and 15^th in the country. It has gained recognitions for the research projects conducted and publications.
