Can Tho University History

Can Tho University was established in the year 1966. It is a private university which is situated in Can Tho in Vietnam. It was started as Can Tho Institute but was recognised as the university in 1975. It is an agricultural research university. It started the first enrolment with four academic faculties.

Can Tho University is organised into eight colleges, seven schools, one high school, one academic training department, four centres and three institutes. It offers bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral degree programs. Students can also apply for research, language courses, diploma and distance education.

It is the home to more than 2,000 faculties out which most are doctorate and some are postgraduates. Students also have other options like e-learning, part time courses, training programs and study abroad program. It is the leading agricultural research institute of Vietnam and is a multidisciplinary university.
