Chang Gung University History
Chang Gung University also known as CGU is a Taiwanese private university located in Taoyuan City, Guishan District. The university was established in 1987 as the Chang Gung Medical College which was changed to Chang Gung College of Medicine and Technology in 1993. The university adopted its present name in July 1997.

Chang Gung University ranks highly in its science and engineering programs and is highly prestigious in Taiwan. The university ranked 255th and 290th in the world for its Clinical Medicine and Electrical Engineering programs respectively.

Chang Gung University has a high acceptance rate as compared to other universities in Taiwan and the university offers financial and tuition fee assistance to a number of students. The university also has its own journals called Chang Gung Journal of Humanities and Social Sciences and Biomedical Journal which caters to the research community.
Chang Gung University has also established a collaborative research program with Arizona State University, USA which aims at prevention, recognition, diagnosis, and treatment of diseases such as Cancer, headed by Nobel Prize Laureate Leland H. Hartwell.
