Chulalongkorn University History

Chulalongkorn University was established as a national university in 1917, making it the oldest institute of higher education in Thailand. Founded in 1917 by King Vajiravudh (Rama VI), the university was named as a tribute to the king’s royal father, King Chulalongkorn (Rama V). Over a period of time, Chulalongkorn University, or Chula for short, has grown to become a full-fledged university. Chulalongkorn University is one of the National Research Universities and supported by the Office of Nation Education Standards and Quality Assessment of Thailand.

Chulalongkorn University Programs, Courses, and Schools

Chulalongkorn University has 20 faculties, 23 colleges and research institutes, and 8,030 faculty members. Currently, there are over 37,082 students, including 24,963 undergraduates, 10,776 postgraduates, and 1,343 certificate program students.

Chulalongkorn University Campuses

The west side of Chula's campus is the site of this innovative park. It has a water retention pond with a capacity of 3.8 million liters and a rain garden. Both help to ameliorate Bangkok's seasonal flooding. It was built to commemorate Chula's 100th anniversary in 2017. Also, the campus provides various sports facilities for students and staff are Tennis Courts, Beach Volleyball, Swimming Pools, Fitness and Body Training Facilities, Indoor Sports Gymnasium.

Aznah Hamid (Actor, assistant, invitation), Mallica Vajrathon (A sociologist, political scientist, and former United Nations Senior Staff member), Tawan Vihokratana (Thai actor and model), Sukhumbhand Paribatra (The 15th Governor of Bangkok).
