Ege University History

Ege University is a public university located in ?zmir, Turkey. It was established in 1955 with the facilities of medicine and Agriculture. It is the first university to begin courses in ?zmir and also the fourth oldest university in Turkey.

Ege University Programs, Courses, and Schools

Ege University offers exchange programs, such as Mevlana Exchange Programs and Erasmus Exchange Programs. It includes courses like Foreign Language Courses and Turkish Courses. Currently, the Ege University consist seventeen colleges, six junior college-type colleges (with four years of the curriculum), ten education faculties (within two years of the curriculum), nine institutes and thirty-seven analysis centers. The University consists of 65,587 students, 55.875 of which are undergraduate and degree students, and 9.712 area postgraduate students. The university has 3156 academic staff and 6347 administrative staff.

Ege University Campuses

Ege University in Bornova is located in Izmir, the campus covers a wide range of facilities as well as culture, sport, and social services. Since the campus is at the crossroad of Ankara, Istanbul, and Izmir, intercity transportation is incredibly quick. Apart from this, intercity transportation provided by municipal bus and underground services changes students to succeed in the field from every vicinity of the town. The General board of Students' Credits and Dormitories administers dormitories, which provide facilities for 6000 students on campus. Ege University serves the scholars and also the public in terms of education, science, health, social and cultural services. To extend these services, a West campus was recently established in Çe?me.

In 1982 the division of Ege University facilitated the foundation of DokuzEylül University with the handover of the many pre-established colleges and graduate schools. Ege University may be a pioneering representative of Fourth Generation University thought.
