I Shou University History

I Shou University was previously known as Kaohsiung Polytechnic Institute or KPI and based in Dashu District of Kaohsiung, Taiwan. The university was founded in 1986 by I-Shou Lin in memory of his mother and provide education to students in nearby villages and towns. The university adopted its present name in 1997 and enrols over 15,000 students.

I Shou University comprises of 9 colleges and 1 research centre which are subdivided into 42 departments. These departments offer 17 graduate degrees, 7 research degrees, 4 undergraduate degrees aimed at indigenous people, 2 international degrees, 19 evening undergraduate degrees, and 13 in-service master’s degrees.

I Shou University offers these programs in subjects like Electrical Engineering, Information Engineering, Business and Management, Communication, Design, Tourism, Hospitality, Languages, Medicine, Indigenous Studies, and General Education.

I Shou University Campuses

I Shou University has its primary campus located in Dashu District of Kaohsiung, Taiwan which houses all the faculties except Medicine. The Medical campus is located in Yanchao District and is situated near E-DA Hospital.

I Shou University offers all the basic amenities to its students such as classrooms, lecture theatres, libraries, laboratories, and counseling services in addition to leisure and recreational options.

I Shou University is ranked amongst 350 best universities in Asia in the Asia University Rankings 2019 compiled by Times Higher Education (THE) World University Rankings. Times also ranks the university in 301+ bracket in Young University rankings 2019.
