Ibn Tofail University History

Ibn Tofail University was established in the year 1989. It is a public university which is situated in Kenitra in Morocco. It was named after Andalusian philosopher and doctor, Ibn Tufayl. With time many of its departments were developed, although some of these already existed before its foundation was laid.

Ibn Tofail University Programs, Courses and Schools

Ibn Tofail University is organised into three academic faculties, three national schools, one superior school and one higher school, each dedicated to different disciplines of study. Students can go for bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral programs. It has also got seven academic centres.

Faculties of the university believe in offering experimental and experiential education to students. It also offers language program, trainings, study abroad, continuing education and research programs to the students. It is partnered with various international universities.

Ibn Tofail University Campuses

Ibn Tofail University has got a smart campus covering an area of 45 acres. Smart campus has got solar panels, electromobility, waste water treatment and energy efficiency. Other facilities include transportation, cafeteria, athletic courts, gym, recreational area, theatre, career centre, auditorium, sports complex and research centres. Students can become the part of student committees and participate in different outdoor and other campus activities.

University library is stocked with journals, magazines, paper books, guides, archives, manuscripts, periodicals and publications. Other services available are reading space, electronic resources, exhibition area, sitting area, conference room and panoramic cafe.

It has continually progressed in the rankings by The Times Higher Education over the years. It has been ranked among the top universities, both nationally and globally, for its sanitation and clean water. It is among the top 1000 universities of the world and top 5 universities of the country.
