Indian Institute of Science Bangalore is also known as IISc was established by support from Jamsetji Tata and Krishna Raja Wadiyar IV. The Indian Government passed an order and then the institute was formally established in the year 1909. It was declared a deemed university in the year 1958. The institute started its functioning with two departments and today there are 38 new departments and wide range of courses at the undergraduate, graduate, masters level with 3743 enrolments.
