International Christian University History

International Christian University was formed in 1949. It is a non-denominational and private university which is situated in Tokyo in Japan. The university was predicted to be the “University of Tomorrow”. It is a bilingual university where subjects are taught in English and Japanese. The main vision behind the foundation of university was to make Japanese and international students live and learn together.

International Christian University Programs, Courses and Schools

International Christian University has good academic records. The university offers students with undergraduate, graduate and doctoral programs. Students can also opt for physical education, certification programs, international student exchange programs and distinctive study programs. There is a trimester system where each semester is of 11 weeks. It’s a bilingual university meaning that most of the courses are taught both in English and Japanese language. There are eight research institutes in the university as a part of it.

Student to faculty ratio is low of 18:1. The faculties are highly skilled and are hired if they have command over both English and Japanese language. The university is known for liberal arts.

University’s library is a multi-storey building equipped with the collection of 790,000 books, journals, literatures and magazines. The library is high-tech with the facility of computers and became the first library of Japan which introduced the automatic book storage and retrieval system. Learning areas and study rooms are also available.
