Kazakh British Technical University History

Kazakh British Technical University also known as KBTU was founded in 2001 in the city of Almaty, Kazakhstan. The university was founded as a result of a memorandum of understanding signed by the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the British Council. The idea of setting up the university was the vision of former President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Nursultan Nazarbayev.

Kazakh British Technical University programs and courses primarily focus on imparting the knowledge to students in the fields of oil and gas, information technology, banking, finance, and telecommunications, which are considered as a backbone of Kazakhstani economy.
