Myongji University History

Myongji University is a private, Christian university in South Korea. It was founded in 1948. Geunhwa Women's Primary College was established in 1953. Later its name was changed to Seoul's Primary Women's College in 1955 and then The University name was changed from Moo-gung Institution to Myongji Institution based on Christian faith. After the inauguration of President Sang-Geun You its name changed to Myongji University in 1964. Top of Form

Myongji University offers 8 colleges, 9 Graduate School and 2 International Graduate School. They also Offer the Department of Baduk studies. Baduk Studies is divided into the nature of baduk, technical theory, practical matches, related fields, baduk education, and professional administration, etc.

Myongji University Campuses

Myongji University has 2 Campuses. Humanities and Social Science Campus in Seoul is located next to the city center, Sinchon, It is easily accessible to public transportations. Also, Seoul campus offers five colleges in both undergraduate and graduate levels. Art and Natural Science Campus in Yongin is close to City Hall, Traditional Korean Folk Village and it has one of Korea’s largest amusement parks, Everland.
