National Chiao Tung University History and Background:
The National Chiao Tung University is a public university which was established in the year 1896 and is located in Hsinchu, Taiwan. The school’s original name was Nanyang College. In 1912, it was renamed the Shanghai Vocational College of Higher Education. Later on, in 1937, it was finally renamed as the National Chiao Tung University (NCTU). National Chiao Tung University is considered one of the most selective schools in Taiwan and also one of Taiwan's leading public research universities.

National Chiao Tung University Programs, Courses, and Schools:
The National Chiao Tung University comprises the following schools and colleges; College of Science, College of Electrical and Computer Engineering, College of Computer Science, College of Engineering, College of Management, College of Humanity and Social Science, College of Biological Science and Technology, College of Hakka Studies, College of Photonics, School of Law, and the International College of Semiconductor Technology. All these schools and colleges offer diverse Undergraduate and Graduate programs while some of them are; Undergraduate Honors Program of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, Master Program of Sound and Music Innovative Technologies, Undergraduate Honors Program of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, Department of Civil Engineering, Department of Mechanical Engineering, Department of Material Science and Engineering, Graduate Program of Nanotechnology, Institute of Environmental Engineering, Degree Program of Engineering, Degree Program of Flat Panel Display Technology, and many more are there.

The College of Management has been granted accreditation by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) in 2007 and maintained the accreditation in 2012 & 2018. The university also participates in the Bioinformatics Program of the Taiwan International Graduate Program of Academia Sinica, Taiwan's most preeminent academic research institution.

National Chiao Tung University Campuses:
The National Chiao Tung University is founded to be one of the two oldest Chinese universities established according to the Western education system. The university comprises five major campuses; Guangfu Campus, Boai Campus, Taipei Campus, Liujia Campus, and the Tainan Campus. The university comprises a library building which was opened for academic and public use in 1998. The library is set in scenic surroundings with a Chinese garden, gallery and an art and technology area. The Library is well equipped with online and Internet facilities that provide users with fast and comprehensive access to information. Combining technology, art, and leisure, this multifunctional library also hosts exhibitions, concerts, and performances. The National Chiao Tung University Library System is centered in the main square of the university campus and is home to the largest collection of English literature in Taiwan. 

Being a research-oriented university, it consists of several research centers like; Computer Vision Research Center, Pervasive Artificial Intelligence Research Labs, Research Center for Humanities and Social Sciences, Disaster Prevention and Water Environment Research Center, Nano Facility Center, Brain Research Center, Center for Nano Science & Technology, The International Center for Cultural Studies (ICCS), Center for Emergent Cultural Cultural Studies, Film Studies CenterScience, Technology and Society Center, and many more. The University also has a museum which was set up in the year 2004. Permanent exhibitions there include a Gallery of University Presidents and the Chu-Ming Memorial Room, which commemorates Professor Hung-Hsun Ling, the late President who oversaw the establishment of the University in Taiwan.

The National Chiao Tung University has numerous achievements throughout its whole journey while some of them are; Professor San-Yuan Chen awarded for the most outstanding Research Award (2016), The University’s Seniors Ic Lab won the first prize in the 2017 Design Contest and many more achievements are there.

The National Chiao Tung University provides different scholarship opportunities to the students on the basis of academic excellence. The university also facilitates the students with different sports and athletic activities and is part of the nation's most renowned inter-university competition, The Mei-Chu Tournament. Other than that, the university provides the students with excellent accommodation facilities with transportation facility, health and insurance, cafeterias, and much more.

The notable Alumni of NTCU consists of; Robert H. Rines who invented radar and sonar, the founder of Acer Group Stan Shih, Chang Chun-Yen, President of NCTU, pioneer of Taiwan's semiconductor industry, and many more are there.
