New University of Lisbon History

Established in 1973, New University of Lisbon is a Portuguese university located in Campolide, Lisbon. It is the youngest of the public universities in the Portuguese capital city Lisbon metropolitan area, with teaching units in Lisbon, Almada, Oeiras, and soon in Cascais.

New University of Lisbon Programs, Courses, and Schools

The New University of Lisbon has 9 schools, 9 Libraries, 3 hall of residence and 41 research units. It offers student a wide range of programme 28 Bachelors, 12 Integrated masters, 105 masters, and 82 Doctorate programs. NOVA is divided into nine academic units, these are the following. Faculty of Science and Technology, Faculty of Social and Human Sciences, Nova School of Business and Economics, Medical School, Faculty of Law, Information Management School, António Xavier Institute of Chemical and Biological Technology, Institute of Tropical Hygiene and Medicine, National School of Public Health.

New University of Lisbon Campuses

The New University of Lisbon has three canteens and two cafeterias spread over all campuses. It has several Libraries and Documentation Centers scattered through the different academic units. In addition to this, Lisbon provides approximately 307,000 books. There is an opportunity to practice competitive sport, participating in university exams wearing the university sweater in modalities such as surf, corfebol, tennis, paddle, archery, basketball and athletics.
