Okayama University History

The Okayama College was founded in the year 1870 by Okayama-Han and was named as Medical Training Place. The university was developed and changed into Okayama Medical College in the year 1922. But after World War II the college started merging with other national and public colleges and it became Okayama University under the New Education System of Japan.

Okayama is the top national university over 140 years of history. It offers a range of course in various disciplines in which they have 11 faculties, 8 graduate schools with various programs. The university is best for its research and education. It holds the top titles in Japan for its research programs like Translational Research Program, Clinical Study Core Hospital, and Research University. Okayama University Campuses

Okayama University is an Urban Campus, it also includes two more campuses Shikata and Misasa. The main campus is located at Tsushima-Naka in Okayama Prefecture. On 26th December the university was honored with the special prize, the SDGs Partnership Award, presented to companies and organizations recognized as having performed meritorious service deserving special mention.
