Rovira I Virgili University History

Rovira, I Virgili University also known as URV is a Spanish university located in Tarragona and Reus. The university dates back to the early 20th century when the university centres were established in both cities to promote technical education. These centres relied on the University of Barcelona and were then merged to form present-day university in the year 1991.

Rovira I Virgili University comprises of two university schools, three technical schools, and seven faculties offering a wide range of programs in subjects like Arts, Law, Nursing, Chemistry, Oenology, Education Sciences, Psychology, Engineering, Medicine, Architecture, and Health Sciences.

Rovira I Virgili University also comprises number of research institutes, centres, and schools such as Technology Centre for Nutrition and Health, Chemistry Technology Centre of Catalonia, Centre for Environmental, Food and Toxicological Technology, Innovation Centre in Catalyst Development for Sustainable Processes, Technological Innovation Centre in Electrical Engineering, and Advanced Technology Innovation Centre which cater to research and academic community.

Rovira I Virgili University has six campuses across the cities of Reus and Tarragona in Spain. The headquarters are located in Baix Penedès campus which houses university administration buildings as well as faculty of Nursing. All six campuses of the university offer state-of-the-art facilities to its students.
