Sanaa University History

Sanaa University was established in the year 1970. It is a public university which is situated in Sanaa which is the capital city of Yemen. It started with two academic faculties but with time, it developed more and more faculties. Its postgraduate studies were started in 1980.

Sanaa University Programs, Courses and Schools

Sanaa University is organised into academic and training centres, seven academic faculties and fourteen colleges. It offers bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral programs in various disciplines of study. Students can also opt for programs like research, language, e-learning and distance education.

University is equipped with renowned and experienced faculties with some of them being the notable one. The university started with the faculty of Sharia and faculty of education but today it has seven faculties and 14 colleges. Some are there in different branches of the university.

Sanaa University is spread in the wide area with academic buildings and eco-friendly environment. Student service include cafeteria, transportation, parking facilities, student support service, sport courts, fitness centre, healthcare centre, high-tech classrooms and auditorium. Students can become the member of student clubs and associations. University media has scientific journals and publications.

University library is the home to the varied collection of books, magazines, guides, documents, theses, journals, periodicals, archives and repository. Other services include databases, study hall, processing services, digital library, research device, meeting rooms and computer systems.

It is recognised for its research work and publications it has published. UniRank has ranked the university among top 10 of the country. It has won many competitions in various fields.
