Sathyabama University History

Sathyabama University was established in the year 1987. It is a Christian institution which is situated in Chennai in India. It was founded as Sathyabama Engineering College and was later named as Sathyabama University. Currently it is known as Sathyabama Institute of Science and Technology.

Sathyabama University Programs, Courses and Schools

Sathyabama University is the home to 18 academic departments and eight schools offering education in various disciplines of study. It offers bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral degree programs. Students can also opt for research, training sessions, language programs and virtual live classes.

The university has recruited renowned faculties of the field with great experience and knowledge. It offers great internship opportunities and placements to the students by the recognised companies. It organises industrial visit, inplant trainings, guest lectures and frontier lecture series for students.

Sathyabama University has been recognised by the NIRF as 37^th in engineering college ranking, 45^th among the universities and 68^th in overall ranking in India. The Times Higher Education and QS Rankings ahs also ranked it among the top universities. It has won other awards and made various records like Guinness World Record for longest painting, Pidilite Award for Excellence, NIASA Thesis Awards etc.

Students are financially supported by the university in the form of scholarships and grants. Students are awarded on the basis of merit and other criteria.
