Silpakorn University History

Silpakorn University was established in the year 1943. It is a national university which is situated in Bangkok in Thailand. Its roots were kept in 1933 as the School of Fine Arts but was named as Silpakorn University in 1943. It was founded by an art professor named Silpa Bhisari who later became Thai.

Silpakorn University Programs, Courses and Schools

Silpakorn University comprises of thirteen academic faculties which are further divided into departments, one international college and on graduate school. It offers bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral degree programs. Other courses include language, study abroad, e-learning and research.

It has hired faculties with impressive credentials and a load of experience in teaching and training students. It started with offering painting and sculptor programs only but with time, other faculties were developed. It aims at offering quality education to students with complete training and guidance.

Silpakorn University Campuses

Silpakorn University has got three campuses with main campus being Tha Phra Palace. Each has got rural and urban infrastructure. Campus services include cafeterias, art gallery, technology centre, sports fields and courts, campus security, innovation centre, recreational area, theatre, halls, auditorium, student support services and wellness centre. Students can become the member of student clubs and unions. Various events and activities are organised throughout the year.

Wang Tha Phra Library is the digital library. It is stocked with books, journals, periodicals, research guides, documents, archives and catalogues. Other services include databases, e-services, help desk, computer systems, training rooms, sitting area, departmental sections and tutorials.

Silpakorn University Achievements and USP

Silpakorn University is an internationally acclaimed university of the country. It has been ranked among the top 20 universities of the country and comes among the top 15% universities of the world. Apart from achieving top rankings, it is no less in wining competitions organised off campus. Its students have bought laurels in the field of fine arts and architectural events. It is also known for the research work.

Scholarships, loans and funds are offered to the students as a part of financial assistance helping them in their higher education. Students can apply for these.
