Sojo University History                                      

Sojo University is a Japanese private university located in Nishi-ku, Kumamoto. The university was established in year 1949 and was conferred junior college status in 1965. The university started offering four year programs in 1967 and adopted its present name in 2000.

Sojo University is also rated as one of the universities with very high research output by QS Top Universities. In the Japan University Rankings 2020 published by Times Higher Education, the university was placed amongst top 200 in the country.

Sojo University is renowned for facilitating a number of exchange programs for both inbound and outbound students. The university has active partnerships with universities such as University of Newcastle in the UK and Curtin University in Australia.
