Sultan Qaboos University Background:
Sultan Qaboos University is a public university which was established in the year 1986 and is located in Muscat, Oman. The university is the realization of His Majesty Sultan Qaboos Bin Said during the 10th anniversary of Oman’s National Day in 1980. The construction took place in 1982 and the first University students were enrolled in 1986.

Sultan Qaboos University Programs, Courses, and Schools:
Sultan Qaboos University comprises the following faculties; College of Agricultural and Marine Sciences, College of Arts and Social Sciences, College of Economics and Political Science, College of Education, College of Engineering, College of Law, College of Medicine and Health Science, College of Science, and the College of Nursing. The university offers Diploma, Undergraduate, Postgraduate programs to the students. Sultan Qaboos University provides programs for visiting and exchange students as well.

Sultan Qaboos University Campus:
Sultan Qaboos University is set in a valley beneath the foothills of the Oman Mountains, the University is a tasteful array of buildings designed with arches and courtyards and constructed in white and pink sandstone in a manner that reflects traditional Omani and Islamic architecture. The university has more than 20 research and support centers like; Centre for Career Guidance, Student Counseling, Center for Excellence in Teaching and Learning, Independent Learning Centre, Community Service, and Continuing Education, Excellence in Marine Biotechnology, Communication and Information, Earthquake Monitoring, Environmental Studies, and more. Along with these, the university also has seven different libraries for the students to use for educational purpose and a hospital as well.

Sultan Qaboos University provides scholarship opportunities to the students on the basis of academic excellence. The university provides the students with numerous facilities like; Accommodation (Housing), Dining and Canteens, Market Places, Religion and Mosque, Health, Student Consulting Center, Parking, Computer Labs/ Computing IT Resources, Conference Halls. Sultan Qaboos University also has two sports complexes separately allocated for male and female students. Each complex includes football fields, fields for athletics, outdoor stadiums, and volleyball playgrounds, outdoor volleyball fields, indoor sports halls which include handball and volleyball playing areas, two halls for weightlifting, a swimming pool and squash courts.
