Suranaree University of Technology History

Suranaree University of Technology was founded in the year 1990. It is a public university and is situated in Nakhon Ratchasima Province in Thailand. The university is named after the local heroine of Nakhon Ratchasima named Thao Suranari. The university became fully operational in 1993. It is also a research university. Suranaree University of Technology founding bill was signed by the king on 27th of July in 1990 and hence that day is celebrated as its Founding Day.

Suranaree University of Technology is a renowned university. There are six institutes in the field of science, social technology, arriers technology, medicine, engineering and institute of nursing. The university offers undergraduate and graduate programs to the students in various fields. The university follows the policy of Trimester System where each trimester comprises of thirteen weeks. This system enables the students to have a proper study schedule and gain hand-on experience in the program. The university is also one of the nine research universities of Thailand.

The university is equipped with highly qualified and skilled faculties. The university is known for its research programs. It is the home to Synchrotron Light Research Institute which was earlier known as the National Synchrotron Research Centre which performs advanced study on physics, material science and related areas.
