Tehran University of Medical Sciences History

Tehran University of Medical Sciences, is a public university located in Tehran, Iran. It was established in the year 1851 as a part of Dar Ol-Fonoon and later absorbed into the University of Tehran in 1934. It is the largest, most highly- ranked the medical university of Iran.

Tehran University of Medical Sciences, offers undergraduate programs, graduate programs, doctoral programs, and even post-doctoral programs. It also offers summer programs, training programs, non-degree programs, and language learning. The University has 11 Schools in a different departments. The University has more than 1500 academic staff including 13,000 undergraduate students and postgraduate students.

Tehran University of Medical Sciences, the main campus is located in the center, Tehran. The central campus of Tehran University of Medical Sciences is the location of the most university it offers the School of Medicine, Pharmacy, Public Health. Kooy-e-Daneshgah, the main complex of student's dormitories. The International University Campus was founded in 2006. The doors of TUMS and its international campus are open to all international students.

Tehran University of Medical Sciences, Rheumat ology Research Center was the first research center from Tehran University and it was recognized by the Ministry of Health, Treatment, and Medical Education. It was also selected as the Center of Excellence for Rheumatology in Iran in 2001.
