University of Geneva is a public research university which was established in the year 1559. The university is located in Geneva, Switzerland and is the third largest university in Switzerland by the number of students. The university is consistently ranked as one of the top universities in the world.

University of Geneva comprises the following nine faculties: Faculty of Sciences, Faculty of Medicine, Faculty of Humanities, Faculty Geneva School of Economics and Management, Faculty Geneva School of Social Sciences, Faculty of Law, Faculty of Theology, Faculty of Psychology and School of Education, and Faculty of Translation and Interpreting. The university has thirteen Interfaculty Centres and Institutes, some of them are Computer Science Centre, Centre for the Interdisciplinary Study of Gerontology and Vulnerability, Global Studies Institute, Institute of Reformation History, Institute for Environmental Sciences, University Institute of Teacher Education, Geneva Neuroscience Center, and many more. The university has the following two Partnered Institutions Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies and Bossey Ecumenical Institute.

University of Geneva has more than 16,530 students from 150 different nationalities and has more than 6.500 faculty members. 

University of Geneva provides scholarship opportunities to the students on the basis of academic excellence. The university consists of a library which facilitates the students across four sites and offers numerous facilities to the students and staff. The university also offers sports facilities to the students and holds many championship tournaments like championships in basketball, indoor football, rowing, badminton, and outdoor football. The university also provides special schedules for students wishing to pursue their high-level sporting career and to study at the same time.

1. University of Geneva Excellence Masters Fellowships

The Faculty of Science of the University of Geneva, in collaboration with several sponsors, has established an Excellence Fellowship Program to support outstanding and highly motivated candidates who intend to pursue a Master of Science in any of the disciplines covered by the Faculty.

 Eligibility Criteria/ Scholarship Guidelines

Regardless of your home university, whether you have passed or are doing a brilliant bachelor degree, and that you are one of the best in your year, this program is for you! You must meet the admission criteria of the Master of your choice and be selected on the basis of the application file for an Excellence Fellowship.

2. IO MBA Program Scholarships at University of Geneva

The International Organizations MBA (IO-MBA) at the University of Geneva has scholarships available for full-time students.

Scholarships for Partner IOs & NGOs (for part-time participants): Reduction on program fees for participants working in an IO or an NGO partner of the IO-MBA program

The IO-MBA offers a multidisciplinary curriculum taught by an international faculty from leading universities around the world and practitioners from IOs and NGOs. The coursework explores contemporary management tools and techniques and connects theory with practice in the context of international organizations. A future-focused curriculum bringing management and sustainability together prepares graduates to “bridge the gap” between the private sector, public sector, and social purpose organizations. Through a lively and active IO-MBA Alumni Association, students have access to a network of alumni working in various sectors in international development, including business, government, NGOs, and social enterprise.

At IO-MBA, located in the heart of global Geneva, close to the United Nations and other prestigious international institutions, the city is the classroom. Field trips, guest speakers, and special events connect participants to organizations for hands-on experience.

Participants from low- and middle-income countries are strongly encouraged to apply; IO-MBA offers scholarships and housing support based on need and academic merit. Candidates who submit their application earlier will receive priority scholarship consideration.
