University of Jordan is a public university which was established in the year 1962. The university is located in Amman, Jordan and is the largest and oldest institution of higher education in Jordan. The university has the highest admission averages in the country and is considered the premier university in Jordan and one of the most prestigious in the Arab world and the Middle East.

University of Jordan comprises eight faculties such as Faculty of Medicine, Faculty of Dentistry, Faculty of Pharmacy, Faculty of Nursing, Faculty of Rehabilitation Sciences, Faculty of Science, Faculty of Agriculture, and Faculty of Engineering & Technology. The university has ten Schools of Humanities, four Scientific Schools, five Health Schools, five AQABA Schools, and one School of Graduate studies. All these schools offer a variety of courses under the degree programs of Bachelors and Masters. The university has four institutes: Institute of Archaeology, International Institute for Teaching the Arabic Language to Speakers of Other Languages, Social Work Institute, Institute of agricultural research training extension and education, and The Institute for the Study of Islam in the Contemporary World. The university comprises two Centers such as Center for Photonics Research and The University of Jordan Language Center. The university also has a hospital which was established in 1973 and also has affiliations with King Hussein Cancer Center, which was the first Cancer Center outside of the United States to be accredited by the JCI Disease Specific Certification. 

University of Jordan has more than 37,692 students which include 31,855 Undergraduate students, 5,837 Graduate students and has more than 4,652 International students. The university has more than 1,431 Faculty members.

University of Jordan provides scholarship opportunities to the students on the basis of academic excellence. The university comprises a Library which was established along the university in 1962. The library has a hierarchy that suite the way it serves its users, and guarantees the best quality of services for both academic and administrative staff, along with researchers and students, besides serving the local community. The university has four affiliations by the International Association of Universities, Federation of the Universities of the Islamic World, Mediterranean Universities Union, and Association of Arab Universities.
