University of Mosul History

University of Mosul was established in the year 1967. It is a public university which is situated in Mosul in Iraq. It is considered to be one of the largest academic and research centres in Middle East and is second largest one in Iraq. It has seen many ups and downs after its roots were laid.

University of Mosul Programs, Courses and Schools

University of Mosul comprises of 24 academic faculties and seven research centres. It offers learning in more than 100 scientific specialisations and four disciplines. It provides bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral degree programs. Other courses include e-learning, continuous education and research.

It is the home to more than 45,000 students and more than 80,000 students have graduated till date from the university. It has recruited more than 4,000 teachers out of which some are professors and other is associate professors. It is known for its education in medicine due to its renowned medical college.

University of Mosul Campuses

University of Mosul has the huge campus including all the facilities required to make student life ideal. Student services include care centre, restaurants, sports complex, theatre, labs, healthcare centre, studio, recreational area, internet services, campus security, swimming pools, multi-purpose arenas and gym. Various activities organised include extra-curricular activities and summer activities. Student clubs and organisations are there.

Central library is the home to literatures, language books, journals, magazines, articles, research guides, manuscripts and periodicals. Other services include virtual library, multimedia section, study rooms, help desk, research facilities and other affiliated libraries. It is one of the best libraries of Middle East.

University of Mosul is one of the largest universities of Iraq. It is a renowned and internationally acclaimed university. It is known for the research projects it handles. It has been ranked among the top 10 universities of the country and comes among top 45% universities of the world. Its sports teams participate in various inter-university competitions and win them as well.

Scholarships, both private and government, and grants are awarded to the students, either on the basis of their academics or the projects they are handling. They have to apply for these.
