University of Passau History

University of Passau was established in the year 1973. It is a public and research university which is situated in Bavaria in Germany. It is the youngest university of all in Bavaria. It was founded in 1973 but its roots were laid in 1622 as the Institute for Catholic Studies.

University of Passau Programs, Courses and Schools

University of Passau has got four academic faculties, twelve associated institutes and six research centres. It offers bachelor’s, master’s, doctoral and double degree programs in around 39 different fields of study. Language courses, continuing education, study abroad program and research programs are also offered.

Faculties of the university are skilled in their field of study. Student to faculty ratio is low. It believes in delivering comprehensive education to students and is a home to around 13,000 students.

University of Passau has an urban campus situated along the bank of Inn River. Campus is highly secure with the amenities like research centre, language centre, cafeteria, athletic courts, crèche for toddlers, fitness centre, recreational area, auditorium and a refectory. Student clubs are there of which can become a part. University media includes magazine, series, blogs, image film, tutorials and radio station.

University library is a digital and multi-storey library with the collection of books, e-books, journals, magazines, research guides and manuals. Access to databases, study area, audio-visuals and tutorials is available to students and faculties.

University of Passau Achievements and USP

University of Passau is a unique university of Germany. It has been ranked among the top 20% universities of the world by the Times Higher Education and has achieved top rank in internationalization by the Multirank. Many of its departments have also been ranked among the top and has a good record in athletics.

Students can apply for the scholarships and financial aids offered by the university. These are awarded on certain eligibility criteria and sponsored both privately and by government.
