The University of Porto also known as Universidade do Porto is a Portuguese university located in Porto. The university was founded in 1911 by the decree of Provisional Government of the First Portuguese Republic and mathematician Gomes Teixeira was chosen as its first rector. The university currently comprises on 30,000+ students and 3500+ staff.

The University of Porto offers various programs across 13 faculties, a biomedical sciences institute, and business school.
