University of Tabriz History
University of Tabriz is most prestigious public University located in Tabriz, East Azarbaijan. The University has outgrown itself from a small university with only couple of faculties to being one of the treasured universities in Azarbaijan. Formerly the University was known as University of Azarabadegan and was renamed as University of Tabriz in 1979.

The University of Tabriz owes 19 faculties, 7 institutes and several Research centers. There are various graduate, post graduate and Phd. programs the students can choose from. The university is known for its programs offered in Science, Research & Technology.

The University of Tabriz has four main campuses. The campuses comprises of the Main Campus in Tabriz, Aras International Campus, Miyaneh Technical College & Marand Technical College. All the campuses are huge and have serene atmosphere. The library of the University is well equipped with latest books, journals and magazines. There is a sports activity centre for students too.
