University of Yamanashi History

University of Yamanashi was established in the year 2002. It is a national university which is situated in Kofu in Japan. Initially, three schools of Yamanashi were merged to form University of Yamanashi after the World War 2 but later on the then University of Yamanashi and Yamanashi Medical University merged to form today’s University of Yamanashi.

University of Yamanashi Programs, Courses and Schools

University of Yamanashi is organised into four academic faculties which offers undergraduate, master’s and doctoral courses in different area of study. Faculty of Medicine offers medical programs along with the attached hospital. Students can also opt for study abroad programs, research and other attached programs in different departments.

Majority of the professors are skilled and master in their field of study. It is known for its research centres and technology programs offered to the students.

University of Yamanashi Campuses

University of Yamanashi has an urban campus with modern and huge infrastructure. Amenities available for students are cafeteria, research centre, transportation, security system, student support, athletic fields, cultural centre, gardens, healthcare centre and recreational area. Students can become the part of student unions and organisations and enhance their personality. University media has publication, magazine, video channel and press.

University library is the digital library with the wide collection of books, magazines, study material. research guides, manuals, documents and publications. Access to databases, tutorials, audio-visuals, training room and computer systems are available.

University of Yamanashi Achievements and USP

One of the biggest achievements of the university is that one of its alumni, Satoshi Omura won Nobel Prize in 2015. It has been ranked among the top 1000 universities of the world and top 50 universities of the country. It is recognised for the research and technology education offered and is internationally acclaimed university.

Scholarships, financial aids and grants are awarded to the students helping them in their education. Students can apply for these.
