Srinakharinwirot University History

Srinakharinwirot University was established in 1949 and is located in Bangkok, Thailand. The foundation of the University was with the sheer motive of teacher training and it was first of its kind in the country. The University was formerly called College of Education, however, with the royal decree of a King, the institute received its University status and the name that translates to “the glory of the city”.

Srinakharinwirot University comprises of the Faculty of Education, Humanities, Fine Arts, Social Sciences, Physical Education, Science, Medicine, Nursing, Pharmacy, Dentistry, Physical Therapy, Engineering, Agricultural Product Innovation and Technology, Economics, Environmental Culture and Ecotourism, Business Administration for Society, International College for Sustainability Studies, College of Social Communication Innovation and College of Creative Industry. The University also comprises of a Graduate School.

The University originally comprises of 8 campuses, however, presently those campuses exist as independent Universities. Currently, the University has the Prasanmitr campus as the headquarter and the Pathumwan campus exists as its teaching school.
