Alzahra University History

Alzahra University was established in the year 1964. It is a state-run and public university which is situated in Vanak in Iran. It is a only women university. It was started by Queen Farah Pahlavi by the name of Higher Educational Institute for Girls. In 1983, it acquired its current name. It one of the highly competitive universities of the country.

Alzahra University Programs, Courses and Schools

Alzahra University comprises of nine academic faculties, a research institute for women, one institute and a branch in Urmia. It offers bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral programs in 171 majors. Students can also apply for e-learning, research, language program and honors program. It is also collaborated with other universities.

Faculties of the university are experienced and expert in their area of study. It is equipped with research centres. It is the home to more than 8000 students. It is known for the research work it conducts and publications. It invites international students all over world for the research and academics.

Alzahra University Campuses

Alzahra University has four campuses out which two are self-supporting campuses. It is an urban and highly sustainable campus. Student services include education centre, labs, pool, sports facilities, restaurants, post office, campus store, grocery store, wifi access, transportation, banking services and counselling centre. Student clubs and unions organises cultural and sports events. University media has journals. Recreational area, halls, art museum and auditorium are also available.

Central library is stocked with books, journals, magazines, guides, publications, theses, papers, manuals, manuscripts and periodicals. Virtual library, databases, tutorials, computer systems, borrowing facility, research facility, lecture rooms and study areas are accessible.

Alzahra University Achievements and USP

Alzahra University comes among the top 19% universities of the world. It has won many awards and recognitions in various competitions worldwide. The Times Higher Education Impact Ranking has ranked it in top 200 among 766 universities of the world. Two of its students won gold medal in Denmark. UI Green Metric World University Rankings ahs ranked it as 358^th world’s most sustainable university.

Scholarships and grants are awarded to the students. International scholarships and government scholarships are offered. Students have to apply for these.
