China Medical University Taiwan History

The Chinese Medical College (CMU) was established on June 6, 1958, and in 2003 it became China Medical University. It is the first academic institution in Taiwan to provide programming for Chinese medicine and pharmacy. There are two major campuses at the university, Taichung and Beigang. CMU aims to develop and promote the synthesis of traditional Chinese medicine with Western medicine.

China Medical University Taiwan Programs, Courses and Schools

It consists of eight colleges in Western Medicine, Chinese Medicine, Dentistry, Pharmacology, Health Care, Biopharmaceutical and Food Sciences, Public Health, and Humanities and Sciences offering educational, research and practical programs. Interdisciplinary courses are also available for students who want to integrate their learning experiences and then expand them. Every year from 2011 to 2017, CMU received the highest subsidy from the Teaching Excellence Project of the Ministry of Education in Taiwan. With its modern state - of - the - art laboratories, three comprehensive teaching hospitals, and staff with a strong commitment to their students, CMU is dedicated to providing excellent opportunities for local and foreign students to get the best possible education to pursue careers in health care and life sciences.

China Medical University Taiwan Campuses

China Medical University is made up of two campuses the main campus is located in downtown Taichung;the Peikang branch, Yunlin Country. The university currently consists of four colleges: Medical College, Chinese Medicine College, Pharmacy College and Public Health College. There are 20 departments, adding to that there are nine graduate programs. Moreover the university also owns the Lifu Museum of the Chinese Medicine Library, the Computer Center, the Extension Center, the Environmental Safety and Hygiene Center, the Acupuncture Research Center, the General Education Center, the Animal Center, and the Research and Development Committee.
