Jawaharlal Nehru University History

Jawaharlal Nehru University is a public university settled in New Delhi, India. It was established in the year 1969 by an act of Parliament. The bill for the institution of Jawaharlal Nehru was placed within the RajyaSabha on 1st September 1965 by the minister of Education, M.C Chagla. The Indian School of International Studies was merged with Jawaharlal Nehru University in June 1970. After the merger, the “Indian” was dropped from the name of the School and it became the School Of International Studies of the Jawaharlal Nehru University.
