The Karolinska Institute called the Royal Caroline Institute in English is a research medical university in Solna. It was established in the year of 1810. This University is recognized as Sweden's best university and one of the largest, most prestigious medical universities in the world.

Karolinska Institute offers the widest variety of medical education underneath one roof in Sweden. Several of the programs embody clinical coaching or different coaching among the care system. Karolinska Institute has 22 departments which even include Public Health Sciences & Women and Child Health. Karolinska Institute was supported in 1810 on the island of Kungsholmen on the aspect of the capital of Sweden, the main campus was settled decades later to Solna, just outside Stockholm. A second campus was established recently in Flemingsburg, Huddinge, South of Stockholm. This Institute is one of Sweden's largest centers for training and research, accounting for 30% of the medical training and more than 40% of all academic medical and life science research conducted in Sweden.
Karolinska Institute Achievements
The Nobel Assembly at the Karolinska Institute awards the honor of Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine. In 1955 Victor-Marie Hugo Theorell becomes KI's 1st Nobel Laureate, receiving the honor in Physiology or Medicine for his discoveries regarding the character and mode of action of oxidization enzymes. In 1967 Ragnar Granit receives the Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine for his contributions to the analysis of retinal function and how optical nerve cells respond to light stimuli, color, and frequency. In 1981 Torsten Wiesel and David H. Hubel jointly receive the laurels in Physiology or Medicine for their discoveries regarding scientific discipline within the visual system.
