Kasetsart University History

Kasetsart University also called KU is a Thai university located in suburb of Chatuchak in Bangkok. The university was established in 1943 as an institution specialising in study of Agriculture. The university is largest in Thailand enrolling over 86,000 students and employing 3600 plus staff.

Kasetsart University offers a wide range of programs in subjects like Agriculture, Agro-Industry, Fisheries, Forestry, Humanities, Architecture, Business Administration, Social Sciences, Veterinary Medicine, and Veterinary Technology to name a few.

Kasetsart University also offers graduate and doctoral level programs through its Graduate School and College of Integrated Science in similar subjects. The university initially specialised in offering Agriculture related programs but has lately been offering programs in a wide range of subjects.

Kasetsart University has its primary campus located in Bangkhen in the suburb of Chatuchak in Bangkok, Thailand. The university also maintains three secondary campuses in Kamphaeng Saen, Sri Racha, and Chalermphrakiat Sakon Nakhon Province. The primary campus of the university is spread over an area of 135 hectares.

Kasetsart University campuses are a mix of urban and rural settings and together they form the largest university in Thailand. The university offers a wide range of services to students such as libraries, farms and forests, laboratories, classrooms and lecture theatres, and computer labs in addition to a great environment to study and relax.

Kasetsart University is ranked 130th in Asia by QS World University Rankings 2019. The same ranking table also places the university amongst top 1000 in the world and top 100 in the world for Agriculture and Forestry programs. QS ranks many of university’s programs amongst top 300 in the world.

Kasetsart University was ranked amongst top 300 universities in Emerging Economies and BRICS Nations by Times Higher Education World University Rankings. Times ranks the university in 800-1000 bracket in its world rankings of 2018.
