National Autonomous University of Mexico History

The National Autonomous University of Mexico is a public research university which is located in Mexico. It was established in the year 1910 by Justo Sierra. This has given the university the freedom to define its own curriculum and manage its own budget without interference from the government. This has had a profound result on educational life at the university, that some claim boosts freedom and independence.

National Autonomous University of Mexico Programs, Courses, and Schools

The National Autonomous University of Mexico offers comprehensive programs like Bachelor’s degree, postgraduate degree, Technical level it also includes open universities and distance education, continuing education, diploma, courses, and workshops. It also provides certification courses for students. UNAM has a set of schools covering different academic fields such as "engineering" or "law". All of UNAM's schools offer undergraduate and graduate studies (master's degrees and PhDs). However, the schools that UNAM calls "national schools" only offer undergraduate studies, as this type of school is mainly focused on practical experience. This is the case of the National School of Nursing and Obstetrics, and the National School of Social Work. Schools provide 20 undergraduate and graduate degree whereas national schools only provide 6 undergraduate degrees. The university has more than 41,318 academic staff, 356,530 students, 213,004 undergraduate students, and 30,089 postgraduate students.

Architects Delaware Maria y Campos, Del Moral, and Pani got the responsibility as administrators and coordinators to assign every creator to every designated building or constructions that enclose the Estadio Olímpico Universitario, concerning forty faculties and institutes, the Cultural Center, Associate in Nursing ecological reserve, the Central Library, and a couple of museums.

All Mexican Alfred Bernhard Nobel laureates are either alumni or school of UNAM. In June 2007, its main campus, Ciudad Universitaria, was declared a UN agency World Heritage website. UNAM has excelled in many areas of research. The university homes several of Mexico's premiere analysis establishments. In recent years, it has attracted students and hired professional scientists from all over the world, most notably from Russia, India, and the United States, creating a unique and diverse scientific community.

National Autonomous University of Mexico, Alfonso Garcia Robles was a Mexican diplomatic received noble peace prize in the year 1982. Octavio Paz was a Mexican poet and diplomatic received a noble prize in literature in the year 1990. The university has always been committed to its motto “For my people, the spirit shall speak”.
