Quaid-i-Azam University History
Quaid-i-Azam University also known as QAU was founded in 1967 as the University of Islamabad under the Act of National Assembly of Pakistan. It was renamed to Quaid-i-Azam University in 1976 to commemorate Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, the founder of Pakistan. The university currently enrolls 13,000 students and is one of the largest universities in Islamabad.

Quaid-i-Azam University is based out of 1700 acres campus on the foothills of Margalla Hills in Islamabad, Pakistan. The QAU Library houses numerous books, periodicals, journals, and volumes for student use as well as provides digital services in the form of e-books and e-periodicals.
