Quaid-i-Azam University History

Quaid-i-Azam University also known as QAU was founded in 1967 as the University of Islamabad under the Act of National Assembly of Pakistan. It was renamed to Quaid-i-Azam University in 1976 to commemorate Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, the founder of Pakistan. The university currently enrolls 13,000 students and is one of the largest universities in Islamabad.
