Samara National Research University History

Samara National Research University was established in the year 1942. It is a public university which is situated in Samara in Russia. It was founded as Kuibyshev Aviation Institute and later gone through name changes from Samara Aviation Institute to Samara State Aerospace University to its present name.

Samara National Research University Programs, Courses and Schools

Samara National Research University is organised into eight institutes, 12 academic faculties, five research institutes and a technical college. It offers bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral degree programs. Students can opt for full time or part time courses. Research and distance education are also offered.

It is the home to more than 1400 faculties who are highly qualified and skilled in their area of study. Students can also apply for specialisation courses, continuing education, summer schools, study abroad program, training programs and pre-university trainings. More of a professional guidance is offered.

Samara National Research University has urban campus with safe and modern infrastructure. It has various academic buildings with the facilities like cafeteria, research labs, training airfield, media centre, museum, healthcare centre, gym, sports fields, athletic facility, campus store, training aerodrome, botanical garden and cultural centre. There are student councils and clubs for research and trainings. An intercollegiate centre for super computer is also a part of the infrastructure.

A research library is equipped with books, research guides, journals, articles, publications, theses, dissertations, periodicals and research and study material required. Computer labs, training rooms, research areas, help desk, databases, e-resources, tutorials and study rooms are available.

Samara National Research University has been observed to improve its position in both national and international rankings. QS World University Rankings ahs ranked it among the top 750 universities of the world. The Times Higher Education has ranked its engineering and technology program among top 500 globally and is among top 400 universities of Europe. It has been ranked among top Russian universities for its education and research.

Grants, scholarships and funds are offered to the students. They have to meet the set criteria by the university. Students can apply for these.
