Sogang University History

Sogang University is one of the prime research and top liberal arts universities of South Korea. The university was established in 1960 by a branch of the Society of Jesus which is located in the U.S. Sogang University was introduced in Jesuit philosophy. It was granted university status in 1970. Sogang University also owns a famous slogan which is: Be as Proud of Sogang as Sogang is Proud of You.

Sogang University Programs, Courses, and Schools

Sogang University offers 10 schools and programmes such as School of Humanities and International Cultures, School of Social Sciences, School of Integrated Knowledge, School of Media, Arts, and Science, School of Communication, School of Economics, Sogang Business School, School of Engineering, School of Natural Sciences, and Interdisciplinary Programs.

Sogang University Campuses

Sogang University Main gate was newly-built in the year 1990 to celebrate the 30th anniversary of University and IHS in Greek letters, which symbolizes Jesus. It is situated in about 400 meters away from the Sinchon station (Subway Line No. 2).

Sogang University Achievements and USP

The Office of International Affairs offers a scholarship called "Sogang Global Scholarship," which amounts to KRW900,000 to selected students based on Student's academic performance in home university. Priority will be given to the students who are the first to be participating in the Sogang Exchange Program from their home institution also for the Students who are covered under housing agreement between the University and their home university.
